Reciprocating engines are at the heart of almost all critical industrial applications. Regardless of the specific fuel type, efficient running and management is essential in providing operators with a cost effective and reliable operation. Analysis of wear metals and other contaminants (dust, water, additives, wrong oil grade etc.) within the engine oil will reveal any deteriorating internal components, allowing operators to utilise the full useful life of the oil. By scheduling maintenance at the optimal point, problems which can occur when oils remain in the engine too long and are excessively degraded and/or contaminated are substantially reduced, preventing critical failure and unplanned downtime.

The Tan Delta Engine Monitoring Kit combines core patented oil-sensing technologies in an easy-to-deploy, ‘fit and forget’ product, designed specifically for industrial engine applications (Construction / Heavy Plant, Light Plant, Marine Engines, Rail Locomotives, Quarrying, Mining etc.). The advanced technology detects the earliest signs of oil contamination, allowing operators to service the engine at the optimal point, ensuring the continued health of heavy machinery. Deploying the Tan Delta sensor technology will improve engine efficiency, and serve to reduce downtime. This can have a dramatic effect on productivity and output and will extend service intervals and reduce operating costs.

The Engine Monitoring Kit includes a single OQSx sensor and a single OQDe display with all of the necessary cables for configuration and installation. Robust and easy to install, the OQSx and OQDe are the perfect partnership.
